PRE BALLET - 3 & 4 Yrs These classes provide the foundation for dance with a lively and fun approach. Dance is introduced through creative movements, stories, and nursery rhymes to encourage children to use their imaginations. Each exercise has a specific purpose to help to develop their muscles and co-ordination for future, more challenging dance steps. BALLET - 5 & up Learning ballet technique gives children a solid base and excellent introduction to dance. Great ballet technique will enhance and improve all other forms of dance and physical activity. This program introduces children not only to ballet, but also to free movement, creative expression, rhythm and character work starting at the Pre-Primary level. JAZZ - 4 & up A high energy class performed to upbeat music. Students are placed according to age and ability. This class focuses on technique as well as strength and flexibility. TAP - 3 & up Theatrical dance using precise rhythmical patterns of foot movement wearing tap shoes. HIP HOP - 6 & up Known as “Street Dancing” or “Jazz Funk”, this high-energy dance form involves learning contemporary dance moves to upbeat music. Hip Hop is available for students ages 6 & up. Teen and adult classes are also available. ACTING - 10 & up Acting is a basic introduction to public speaking and characterization. Students will learn the skills that they need to take on different characters through voice, movement, and expression. Students will learn how to work independently and cooperatively through dramatic games and skit creations. This class will allow individuals to explore different means of communication in a fun and safe manner, and to gain confidence in their acting abilities through presentations and performances. The students of the drama classes will hold main roles in our year end performance. MUSICAL THEATRE - 5 & up This class combines singing, dancing & acting all into one fun class! MODERN/CONTEMORARY - 10 & up (Must be registered in ballet)
Modern dance is a dance style that centers on a dancer's own
interpretations instead of structured steps, as in traditional
ballet dancing. Modern dancers reject the limitations of classical
ballet and favor movements derived from the expression of their
inner feelings
